How can natural climate solutions help farms in Angola to become more resilient? 🌳
Angola is facing significant development challenges in the context of climate change, especially in rural areas where communities rely on natural resources for their livelihoods.
By restoring degraded landscapes and improving living conditions of local communities in the Malanje province, KAYA’s Nature-based Solutions projects will help the region with climate change adaptation and mitigation.
We’re working towards three key areas of intervention:
👉️ Sustainable and Productive Farming: Helping farmers boost productivity and income by adopting sustainable practices, diversifying crops, and integrating agroforestry for long-term resilience.
👉️ Forestry for Livelihoods: Restoring degraded land and protecting natural regeneration areas to provide farmers with sustainable forestry products, new income streams, and alternative livelihoods.
👉 Stronger Communities and Economies: Supporting farmers and local communities in adapting to climate change, ensuring fair access to resources, driving green economic growth, and preserving local knowledge for a more resilient future.
Meanwhile, we take great care to celebrate and preserve native local knowledge and practices that promote harmony with nature and foster cultural resilience in the face of environmental challenges. Together, we strive to build a future where sustainability is not just a goal but a way of life.
We are building collaborative partnerships with stakeholders including farmers and NGOs, to harness collective expertise and resources to amplify the impact of our climate action initiatives.
